Dr. Jacqueline Koo, MDDr. Jacqueline Koo, M.D., M.P.H., is a board certified ophthalmic surgeon who comes to Peninsula Eye Physicians with fellowship training in corneal diseases, refractive surgery, cataract surgery and glaucoma.  A Bay Area native, she was a National Merit Semi-Finalist at Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto.  She graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins University.    After college, she graduated in the top 10% of her medical school class at Boston University.  She also received a Masters of Public Health in epidemiology/biostatistcs from the University of California at Berkeley.   Dr. Koo completed her ophthalmology residency at Boston University Medical Center.  Following residency, she was accepted at one of the top eye fellowships in the country, where she trained with Dr. Richard Lindstrom, M.D.  

Dr. Koo has extensive surgical experience, has participated in F.D.A. trials of new eye technologies, and continues to lecture about ophthalmology.  In 2004, she published “Office Ophthalmic Procedures” a popular handbook for eye care professionals.  She is also an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the San Mateo County Medical Society.  Dr. Koo is married to Edward Sun, M.D., who is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Mills-Peninsula.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two sons.
